Mushaf Al-Qari ("the App") is a free application for reading and studying the Noble Quran, available as a web app at quran.alqari.no. It is developed and operated by Al-Qari.
The App is intended solely for educational purposes and should be used alongside qualified scholarship and traditional learning resources.
Mushaf Al-Qari is designed with privacy as a core principle. The App does not require accounts, does not use analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs, does not use cookies, and does not collect device identifiers (IDFA, IDFV, or similar). All network communications are encrypted using HTTPS/TLS.
The following data is processed in real-time when you use the AI feature and is never written to disk or logs:

The App stores your preferences and reading progress using your device's local storage. This includes your current page, selected translation and reciter, bookmarks, favorites, verse notes, and AI response cache. This data never leaves your device and can be deleted at any time by clearing your browser/app data or uninstalling the App.
The App includes a recitation tracking feature that listens to your voice and follows along word-by-word as you recite the Quran. This feature uses your device's built-in speech recognition engine:

On Apple devices, speech recognition is performed entirely on-device with no network transmission. On Android/Chrome, the speech recognition behavior is governed by Google's Privacy Policy. You can review your device's speech and privacy settings to control how speech data is handled by the operating system.
The App includes an AI question-and-answer feature for contextual insights about Quran verses.

The backend service is operated by Al-Qari and hosted on Microsoft Azure. It forwards questions to Azure AI Foundry, a Microsoft service, for processing. No questions, responses, or user data are stored or logged by Al-Qari. Azure AI Foundry processes requests under Microsoft's data privacy commitment: prompts and completions are not used to train or improve Microsoft or OpenAI models.
AI responses are generated by a machine learning model and may contain inaccuracies, hallucinations, or misinterpretations. AI output is not reviewed by scholars and should never be treated as authoritative religious guidance. Always verify AI-generated content against trusted scholarly sources and qualified Islamic scholars. The developers make no claim of religious authority and accept no responsibility for decisions made based on AI-generated content.
We do not sell, rent, trade, or share any user data with third parties for marketing, advertising, or any commercial purpose. The App does not track users across apps or websites and does not use Apple's App Tracking Transparency (ATT) framework because no tracking occurs.

Because the App does not collect or store personal data on any server, there is no user data to access, correct, or delete remotely. You can delete all locally stored data (preferences, bookmarks, cache) by clearing your browser/app data or uninstalling the App. No questions are sent to the AI backend unless you explicitly type and submit one.
The App is rated 9+ due to its AI-powered features, which may generate interpretive content addressing complex theological themes. Parental guidance is recommended when children use the AI feature. Parents and guardians should help children understand that AI responses are machine-generated and must be verified against qualified scholarly sources.
The core Quran reading, audio, translation, and tafsir features do not involve AI and are suitable for all ages. The App does not knowingly collect information from children, and since no personal data is collected from any user, no parental consent mechanism is required under COPPA or similar regulations.

The Mushaf is rendered using QCF (Quran Complex Fonts) version 4 web fonts, reproducing the Medina Mushaf layout from the King Fahd Quran Printing Complex (مجمع الملك فهد لطباعة المصحف الشريف). Font files are sourced from the quran-qcf4 package and bundled at build time — no external font requests are made at runtime. All rights to the Mushaf layout and font design belong to the King Fahd Quran Printing Complex.
The recitation verse detection and accuracy coloring features are experimental and rely on speech-to-text approximation. They are intended as an assistive tool only and should not be considered a replacement for the guidance of a learned scholar or qualified Quran teacher. The accuracy scores are approximate and may not correctly reflect the quality of your recitation, particularly for tajweed rules and subtle pronunciation differences. Always seek guidance from qualified scholars for proper Quran recitation.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
